Vintage spectacular Tissavel vibrant Purple luxurious quality soft sheen long Faux Fur Coat late 1980s early 1990s? Shawl Collar
This is an absolutely STUNNING luxurious faux fur coat by Tissavel believed to date from the late 1980s or early 1990s. There are no care labels or anything to go on to be specific but the style would suggest that time too. Just has a single Tissavel label so was probably not bulk produced; but rather for a luxury boutique or designer sample. Deep revere shawl collar , huge turn back thick cuffs or unroll for long, and loose fit suggests early 1990s.
"Purple haze all in my brain
Lately things don't seem the same
Acting funny I don't know why
'Scuse me while I kiss the sky"
Sang the Cure in 1993 with their cover of Jimmy Hendrix's 'Purple Haze' and that song immediately sprang to mind with the style and the colour. Oozes surreal regal luxurious class
with a touch of goth/new psych Art School edge!
This is the quality of faux fur fabric that is around £100 per metre and looks it; and there are a lot of metres in this! Wrap yourself in truly sensual & dramatic luxury!
It would suit from a size UK 8 (my size) if you like a really oversize look, through to a UK size 16.
It is Tissavel (the faux fur manufacturer) highest grade of faux fur so soft with a beautiful sheen the photos don't really do justice to. Such a dense thread count and in perfect condition.
So many faux furs from this time have been damaged badly by washing or getting wet, so please...if you buy this look after it and have it dry cleaned properly when necessary.
I am seriously tempted to keep myself as you will never find one like this again. So be quick before I change my mind!
