Vintage Claude Montana 1980s black metal zip front mini dress fine wool high neck metal fastening LBD
Vintage 1980s Claude Montana zip front high neck mini dress in what appears to be a very fine light wool twill. This isn't a synthetic stretchy fabric, and def has wool in composition but a twill suiting type fabric not a knit.
The dress is I would say a UK size 8, may fit a small 10 or a larger UK 6.
It has a high neck, which has decorative silver metal fastenings at the top. The zip front comes down to the centre of the pelvic area n ot all the way down. It has great concealed padded shoulders for that 1980s power look, and is naturally very figure flattering because of that. It can be worn unzipped part way for a more casual look, for a hot club dancing for eg or indeed a hot date!
So it is a gorgeous smart 1980s dress by a great designer in Claude Montana.
It is one of a bevy of fabulous 1980s designer dresses I have atm so I themed them all on the Robert Palmer song 'Addicted to Love' ! And while the dress has that high style glamour, so look fab with high heels and sheer hosiery and make up, it is also fine too for work for eg with flatter shoes and thick tights, as it has a nice contemporary look it is hard to get from modern little black mini dresses that try to impersonate the 80s mini dress aesthetic and fail miserably generally because of poor quality, and simply don;t have the sophistication of structure such as those hidden shoulder pads. But equally they are not the loose fit shoulder pads that slip off characterized by lesser quality 80s dresses. This, is very high quality piece naturally, and so easy to wear.
Immaculate condition.
It is NOT washable, as I say it is a quality piece of great fabric so dry clean only. But neither is it one that will gibe you sweaty pits because it isn't synthetic. Fabulous iconic 1980s piece difficult to imagine who couldn't find a place for this special dress in their wardrobe, fine for smart formal wear, even work, more causal dinner date, a fashion event, or rock chick look! I had high neck dresses like this in the later 90s from the 80s, that I wore on the parfum counters and always got compliments and they were great for after work parties too that is why this one is so versatile!
