Vintage 1970s Tissavel fit and flare faux fur coat with real leather panels yoke collar back & cuffs
 
Well this is pretty fabulous....! Perhaps not as fabulous as Pegasus or magic carpets, but nevertheless something quite special in its design!
 
It's a small size I'd say suitable for a UK size 6 to UK 8 
Bust 35 inches, waist 32 inches, hips 40 inches 
The back and front yoke reminded me of an Elizabethan swashbuckling doublet design especially with the collar that stands up. It is real leather. 
 
 I thought it deserved a 'Spirit of the Age and Garment' song to set it in context, so I chose Procul Harum's 'Pandora's Box'...seemed apt! Made in Israel the faux fur is by Tissavel so is a superior quality simulated mink, and mink is mentioned in the song as are magic carpets ....and of course King of Israel Solomon had one of the most famous ones ! Israel famed for its carpet making and also its textiles and garments industry, as is much of the Middle East.

The lyrics are of course surreal....and this coat is too! I can't promise it's as warm as real mink, and it wouldn't be as warm or durable as a wool Persian carpet, but it's not flimsy either so relatively warm for less severe winters.

You'll be warmer in it than cock Robin anyway! 
There is a button missing from the centre, where the belt goes. So, if you like I can move the very top one (I don't think most would do that up) and replace it. Otherwise it will gape open unless belted when closed. So this is no problem for me but wanted to make sure you are ok with this. 

The buttons are also a lovely 70s design brass edged. 
We think the coat dates from c 1975 as this style of coat was in most of the fashion catalogues, as were ribbed piping designs on leather coats, though may be a year or two either side. The Procul Harum song charted that year, though our original wearer would have been as likely to be into disco or glam rock as Prog rock, as I say it seemed apt.
