This coat dates from late 1940s -1950 and is wool mixed with mohair & cashmere, with an astrakhan sheep fur collar. The tailoring is amazing and rare in this condition & quality. We think it is likely French but there is no label. It 'feels' French anyway - so hence the theme here. The hat is Schiaparelli c same period and most definitely French! Listed also on my store.
The cut of the coat its a size 14-16 top and size 12 waist ! They wore corsets in those days, as you can see by the tailoring at the back. But comfortably would be ideal for a modern 12-14.
 
The style was relatively common but this one, while in a sturdy heavyweight fabrics has that extract softness of added luxury hair fibres, which means it has lasted in very good vintage condition with no signs of wear. It's too big for me to model really but look at the tailoring on the back, and if you are this size and seeking a late 40s early 50s coat and you are 12-14 don't hesitate it will be amazing on you!
