A beautiful jacket by Laurie White Couture dating from late 1940s (jacket structure inspired by New Look but still the roomy cut underarm/chest so unlikely later than early 1950s).

The yoke design in really love round the shoulders and back in  Silk Faille Grosgrain/taffeta, with asymmetric tie at the front.
Glass jet buttons.

I have worn it here with a deep black velvet semi circle skirt just to show it off (the deep black skirt makes the jacket details stand out better on camera exposure)  but looks best with a pencil to a line skirt in fact so probably adds to the late 40s date hypothesis.

It's a lovely piece and a UK size 8 or small or corseted 10. Looks best with a bullet bra as chest is quite roomy.

Brooch not included.
