Vintage 1960s c 1965 pure silk floral Peter Barron dress Jean Shrimpton 4 ins above av knee size UK 12 Mod blue yellow grey Ascot Races mini
Beautiful blue yellow/gold and grey floral pure silk 1965 Jean Shrimpton influence cut 4 inches above average knee dress (I'm 5ft 5ins). Could easy be altered if you are a little shorter.
Hemlines went up immediately after Jean Shrimpton's visit to the Melbourne cup 1965 where she stole the headlines.
If you are 'seeking' a winner, 'I'll Never Find Another You' a song by Australian band the Seekers from 1965 , and fashion model Jean Shrimpton's visit to the Melbourne Cup which shook the world with her 4 inches above the knee dress stealing the headlines from the horse racing itself... was inspiration for this video featuring a Peter Barron silk floral dress that was produced soon after. There'll never be another Jean Shrimpton, or indeed another brand with such beautiful period chic 60s dresses as Peter Barron. This stunning example in turquoise yellow and grey floral print unlike Shrimpton's synthetic shift however, is in pure silk. Like wearing fresh air so fine. Big for me hence I am holding it as forgot to take a clip! But on the right size (UK 12) this will be gorgeous! The little front kick side pleat & bow so lovely...
Marked a size 14 but of course vintage sizes were smaller so this a def modern size UK 12.
Comes with the 1960s vintage blue gloves shown.
